Recently, e-castings have also grown in importance: The candidates record themselves as they interpret one or two given scenes and send it to production to be inspected. In these two methods, unlike [other casting processes](/content/en/learn/preproduction/cast/cold-readings-and-test-recordings/index.html), the director does not work with the candidates himself, but decides on the basis of the filmed material.
